About NFPA
The North Florida Procurement Association (NFPA) Chapter of NIGP (National Institute of Government Purchasing) was founded April 2005 as the 87th NIGP chapter with 105 charter members and continues to remain a steady influence in the public-purchasing profession. Chapter membership is comprised of public agency procurement staff from across the northeast Florida region.
With over a million residents, northeast Florida is a solid area poised for growth. The area includes a diverse environment of natural and structured resources. NFPA, as one of those resources, is committed to assisting its members and member agencies in developing and implementing cost-saving opportunities through collaborative purchasing efforts, effective communication, and transparent procedures.
The NFPA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to the advancement of the purchasing profession through the education of its members and vendor community. Chapter membership is open to all public procurement professionals of any federal, state, city, county, and any other political subdivision of the state of Florida (such as institutions of higher learning, school districts, port authorities, police and fire departments, etc.) located in the northeast Florida region (an area that includes Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties). Also included are any full-time employees of any NIGP member agencies whose functions are related to contracting, purchasing, or the materials management functions.
Join Us
Even though you (or your agency) may already have a national membership in NIGP, chapter membership is separate. NIGP's network of affiliate chapters provides a gathering place for networking and problem solving at local and regional levels.
We hope to see you at a future meeting.
